Nearly four and a half months following the previous coach's first press conference as Rangers head coach, his replacement the German coach faced the media at Rangers' stadium for the initial occasion.

The magnitude of the task facing him is well known, given his predecessor's turbulent and disappointing 123-day tenure.

The ex- Sheffield Wednesday boss was joined by chairman the chairman, along with the frequently questioned duo of sporting director Thelwell and chief executive Patrick Stewart.

However, what precisely was revealed from the young German's maiden media outing as the club's manager?

Rohl's Main Priority - Winning Comes First

One thing emerged clearly from the new coach's initial presentation in front of the local press - he understands the need to win matches, and do so rapidly.

His predecessor Martin lasted only 17 games and four months as manager, so the question arose about what timeframe the new man believes is realistic to transform the underperforming team.

While skillfully avoiding a specific response that could bring later expectations, Rohl's communication was very evident.

"With hope as soon as possible," he said. "This is essential.
"In football you have not much time. You can discuss long-term vision but it's understood it concerns the short-term and that period involves winning games. This is what I demand.
"Another aspect remains obvious - I require all players to understand our intended to play. I return to my primary theme: it's winning, it's attractive and unity. By following this order, I'm convinced that I will remain for years here."

Pressure is Standard

The previous manager needed security protection to exit the Falkirk Stadium after his final match as manager.

We've witnessed how hostile situations can turn at sports teams when performances are poor. Demonstrations have nearly become an expected part of the matchday atmosphere on both sides of Glasgow currently.

As the club's most youthful ever head coach, the inquiry was posed about which attributes the coach thinks he has that would enable him to cope, never mind excel, in one of the most pressurized positions in UK soccer?

"In my opinion expectations in this business are standard," he stated. "One needs to understand that very quickly.
"I believe certain individuals could reference my age but I have been a decade and a half in this career. I experienced an excellent opportunity to be at Bayern Munich and serve as just the assistant coach, but I experienced the reality to be a head coach and the demands you face.
"When you start winning games and then some critics claim you need to produce entertaining football. That's the next stage but that's exactly what I want. I relish that challenge and I'm excited about what's ahead."

The Sporting Director Defends Striker Acquisition & Appointing Family Member

Kevin Thelwell media conference

The media pack had numerous inquiries from the media for Thelwell.

Significant attention has focused on the appointment of his son as head of recruitment, with fans unconvinced about his credentials for the role.

Nevertheless, he justified and clarified the decision to recruit his son to the club.

"It's always uncomfortable to hear and in appearance I believe we all agreed when we made this decision to appoint Robbie that he'd be seen in a particular way," Thelwell said.
"The truth of circumstances is that we aim to attract the very best talent here.
"My view on Robbie's career and background is he required no family help in football.
"He's worked at Villa as a senior scout, after which he joined Norwich as scouting chief and then got promoted to development role.
"Before we recruited him, two Premier League teams sought to acquire him. Our approach right at the beginning of proceedings was consult with Patrick, the chairman and deputy chairman Marathe about this situation.
"I was extremely transparent and I believe he likely experienced a stricter process than anybody else employee by the team.
"What I do know is that he will work 25/8 to be successful for this football club and I'm looking forward seeing him demonstrating that he's going to be an excellent employee for Rangers."

Additionally, Thelwell supported the acquisition of striker Chermiti, who arrived at the club for an alleged initial fee of £8m, after failing to find the net in 24 appearances for his previous club.

It was Thelwell who transferred the Portugal young international to Merseyside from Sporting - again for large funds in a fifteen million pound deal.

He was asked if he supports his multi-million pound purchase, who is yet to score in seven outings for the club.

"Absolutely, completely," Thelwell answered. "I think the striker represents who's possesses great ability.
"I've never doubted him whatsoever. Similarly, I think Danny will assist in get the best out of the player.
"It's very early days for the young player, he remains promising prospect and of course with young talents they sometimes take time.
"However, I'm convinced throughout of his time at the club he's going to prove that he's a highly capable footballer."

Stewart Understands Supporters' Disappointment and Anger

The chief executive was in the media scrutiny, given the criticism that has been aimed his way by some of the club's fans.

There was even a sign in the Sandy Jardine stand during the last tie with Dundee United inviting Stewart - and Thelwell - to depart before being removed for him.

Like his sporting director, the CEO did not avoid the issue.

"I completely appreciate the frustration and hurt that fans are feeling because results this season haven't met good enough and nobody's satisfied with them," he stated.
"The hurt and disappointment they feel is mirrored within the leadership.
"Also understand that there must exist a channel for that dissatisfaction and in my role, that's me.
"I'm a lightning rod for those and my responsibility as a
