La Petite Maison's Bikini – How to Make It

WHere is a home-style take on a drink from the seasonal drinks list. It's a batch pre-mixed that is bursting full of essence of a festive period, making it excellent for a holiday party. Reserve the remaining citrus syrup you can use for morning drinks, desserts, or to mix another batch of the drink.

Bikini

Makes enough for 10 people

To make the Clementine Syrup (produces 750ml)

300ml recently pressed clementine juice
200ml newly squeezed lemon juice
500g fine sugar

Ingredients for the Cocktail (produces 850ml, to serve 10)

400ml good quality vodka
100ml classic gin
150ml peach-flavored liqueur
200ml clementine syrup (see above)
Fresh cranberries, for garnish
Mandarin essential oil, as a final touch

Instructions

For the Citrus Syrup: Combine the listed items inside a saucepan, bring to a gentle boil, agitating to dissolve. Next, take off the stove allowing it to cool down fully. Transfer to a sealable bottle, close it keeping it in the refrigerator, it will last for about a month.

For the Cocktail Base: Pour the specified liquid ingredients in a sizeable container, let it rest for one hour, then filter it preferably using a fine cloth, so it's completely strained.

When ready to serve: Add 85ml of the premix to a cocktail shaker packed with ice, gently stirring carefully for a minute to cool it down. Filter into a chilled martini glass or equivalent, garnish with the cranberries and finish by giving it a light spray of the essential oil over the drink.
