US Military Struck a 'Big Plant' in Venezuela, Trump Claimed Lacking Offering Specifics.

Former President Donald Trump has claimed that American military assets struck a "major installation" in Venezuela in recent days. But, the ex-leader withheld information about the exact purpose or location of the strike, and there has been no further clarification from his camp.

Unspecific Comments Offered In a Radio Interview

"US forces just eliminated – I don't know if you heard – they have a major complex, where the ships depart from. The other night, we took it out. So we struck them with significant force," Trump allegedly said to GOP supporter and businessman John Catsimatidis in a recent interview.

Possible Implications of a Confirmed Attack

Should a US strike were to be verified, it would mark the initial ground target hit since the Pentagon began a buildup of American military presence in the Caribbean region to halt drug traffickers that the Trump administration alleges operate under the direction of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.

This original objective of the force deployment has since morphed into a blockade aimed at disrupting the nation's oil exports.

Social Media Video and Official Claims

Trump has for weeks warned that US forces are ready to escalate the military campaign by hitting targets inside Venezuela, a move that would theoretically require congressional authorization.

A clip posted on social media on 24 December appeared to show an explosion allegedly from an industrial zone in a Venezuelan state. However, the footage or the site in question has not been independently verified.

An administration official reportedly informed a media outlet that the former president was referring to a narco-trafficking site in his comments.

Reaction and Ongoing Military Situation

The Venezuelan government has remained silent on the incident Trump described. Additionally, there have been no independent reports from within the country about it.

The deployment of US military in the region – a position some have called a naval quarantine – constitutes the broadest naval operation of Trump's presidency.

Administration officials have avoided from calling the action as a blockade, but have stated that around 15,000 troops are positioned across the Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico, including a carrier strike group, F-35 aircraft, and law enforcement vessels to enforce current sanctions.
